5. The Hughes Brothers

Soska Sisters
Buena Vista

These twin brothers have a short but eclectic collection of impressive works that a viewer would be forgiven for not knowing were all made by the same creative team.

They began their career with the blistering inner-city crime thriller Menace II Society, displaying a fantastic eye for action and capturing star-making turns from Larenz Tate and Jada Pinkett.

Next up was the crime/war hybrid Dead Presidents, a thrilling and criminally under-referenced movie. Never ones to be pigeon-holed into a simple category, the brothers next took on the Jack the Ripper film From Hell, based on the award-winning Alan Moore graphic novel.

From crime thriller to war film to period adventure, the Hughes Brothers always kept audiences guessing, including with their post-apocalyptic action thriller The Book of Eli, a future western with a masterful lead performance from Denzel Washington.

They've also made interesting projects individually, but their fans can't wait for them to come back together and surprise the world with their next wildly different project.

Chris Vander Kaay knows the hidden secrets of the world, but he frequently forgets them. He has them written on a piece of paper along with his passwords, but he seems to have misplaced that as well.
