7. Blindness (2008)
Blindness presents an interesting thought, perhaps something scarier than a virus that causes death is one that causes sudden irreversible blindness.
Julianne Moore starts in this film about a fast spreading virus which has only the symptom of an all encompassing white blindness. Anyone who has lost the ability to see for any matter of seconds can attest to the suffocating effects that losing your vision has on your mind, even those who have been accustomed to life without vision have taken many years to be able to live comfortably with the help of others. Imagine having to try and learn living blind without someone telling you what's in front of you.
Blindness is a slow burn, terrifying film that plays on human fear to an amazing extent, leaving you with your heart in your mouth at the very thought of what the characters are going through.
