10 Best Films About Pandemics

5. 28 Days Later (2002)

Contagion Film
Fox Searchlight

Far from another generic zombie movie, 28 Days Later puts a spotlight on human activity post outbreak and the lengths that some will go to in order to prolong their lives.

Directed by Danny Boyle, this pandemic film hauntingly begins in a completely abandoned London immediately sending chills throughout your body. Combined with the fantastic direction of Boyle and the excellent screenplay, this film has you constantly guessing where the next threat is coming from while never letting you take a breath as you feel the tension that the characters are going through.

Further showing societies breakdown into anarchy and immorality, it provides a dark outlook as to how low humans can stoop during a zombie apocalypse.
