10 Best Friendships In Horror Movies

9. Eric Draven And Sarah - The Crow

Let The Right One In Eli
Miramax

The Crow may coincide, or more accurately, be synonymous with the tropes of the superhero genre. The imbuement manifests clearly. Tragic backstory, unrequited dismay and a love lost in, well, a much less cookie cutter scenario compared to more traditional stories. Despite the clearly obvious commonalities between this flick and the countless iterations of other superpowered indicators, there is one fundamental difference, and that is stylisation.

The abundance of gothic architecture and imagery alone might be enough to cement the film’s genre as something more habitually horrific. What puts the proverbial nail in the coffin that slams this door firmly closed though is the aforementioned back story; that’s without even mentioning the story that plays out after this.

The Crow/Eric Draven may have undergone a tumultuous time but he finds solace in a young girl that endeavours to help him. Helping him to take the sweetest of revenge on those that put him in too shallow a grave.

Even though the friendship itself takes a backseat role during the unprecedentedly vindictive events that occur outside of it, the relationship between these two individuals remains pivotal. Although the Crow itself is what brings Draven back from the grave, Sarah is the catalyst that connects the zombified corpse to the living world he inhabits.
