10 Best Hard Rock Soundtrack Albums

8. Iron Man 2

The idea of any rock band contributing to a musical soundtrack is not something all that new. Hell, ever since the debut of the Beatles and Elvis movies, a lot of acts were almost expected to work their material onto the big screen at some point or another. In the case of the Tony Stark, AC/DC managed to deliver their trademark rock and roll to an entirely different generation.

Ever since the first scene of the first Iron Man movie, the sounds of Angus Young's guitar on Back In Black fit in perfectly with the image of Tony Stark. Going even further on the second installment, the entire soundtrack was made up of AC/DC cuts, either reworked for the film or operating like a play by play of the action happening on screen. For the duration of this record, it really feels like you're listening to Tony's mixtape, as he soars through the air to songs like Shoot to Thrill and Hells Bells.

It's a shame that Stark's second step up didn't fare as well as his first though, with it becoming one of the footnotes in the grand scheme of the MCU. As far as soundtracks go though, these are the kind of badass throwback tunes that would go on to plant the seed for the Guardians of the Galaxy mixtapes later down the line.
