10 Best Horror Films To Watch On Netflix This Halloween
1. Paranormal Activity 3
The Film:
This third entry in the Paranormal Activity phenomena has no right to be this good, or scary for that matter - but make no mistake, this is the scariest movie to be released in the decade.
Sort of taking its cues from Poltergeist and any other bump in the night movie that was released in those halcyon days of the eighties, the film sees doomed sisters Kate and Kristi back when they were young and first introduced to the malovealt force that would be such a rascal to them in their adult lives.
With their folks setting up chunky old cameras around the house to capturethese strange goings on, it doesn't take long for directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman to start ramping up the scares.
While the original movies never really got beyond swiped duvets and cupboard doors flinging open, this entry simply doesn't let up with the jumpiest moments ranging from Kristi being trapped in a closet, a chilling set piece involving a blanket over a figure and a scream out loud moment involving women in black. It's a ghost train-like experience that you don't want to ride again, which makes it the perfect Halloween movie.
Big Scare:
Katie stands in her room, scared by something. As the camera lingers on what you start to suspect is a red herring scare piece, the little girl is yank into the air by her hair. Shocking and you genuinely won't see it coming... unless you read this, that is.
