10 Best Horror Movie Crossovers

This Syfy channel horror-comedy is the fifth of both series. It stars Freddy Kreuger himself Robert England as Jim Bickerman, who somehow survived being eaten by a crocodile at the end of Lake Placid: The Final Chapter. He has an eye patch, a hook on his hand and a wooden leg, but is still not convinced to move to a more urban location!

Two scientists are working on a research project to create ‘blood orchid serum’ by crossbreeding anacondas with crocodile DNA as they believe it will have anti-aging properties.

Unfortunately, a crocodile they are holding breaks free and goes on the rampage causing an explosion, which releases several anacondas and crocodiles which all make their way to the nearby Clear Lake. The un-eaten scientists take after them, but are slow to shoot any creatures as they want to preserve their research.

In true horror movie style, this all coincides with a group of sorority girls and fraternity boys taking a trip to the lake for some initiation activities. Lots of them are killed by various animals in some spectacularly ambitious but poorly executed CGI. The best scene, however, has to be when a crocodile grabs an anaconda and hurls it into the air at a helicopter, slicing it up and bringing the helicopter down in flames!

This is definitely a not a film for those interested in serious horror. There are lots of gory kills, explosions, guns, and girls in skimpy bikinis. The one liners are bad (‘Later gator’) but it is overall a fun ride and exciting to watch. The film ends with an anaconda/crocodile crossbreed egg hatching, leaving it open for a sequel.
