10 Best Horror Movie Monsters NOBODY Talks About
1. Blade - Puppet Master Series
There's a fair bit to unpack with this little fellow, but the first real selling point on him is his terrifying design. Many people have a morbid fear of puppets, which makes perfect sense, as the uncanny valley makes these lifeless human creatures seem unnatural and disturbing. Blade takes this to a whole new level, as his gaunt face, violent tendencies and literal knife/hook hands make him a killing machine, despite his tiny stature.
The Puppet Master series has amassed a staggering 16 films, making it a surprisingly long horror series. Despite this, it circulates a cult fanbase and doesn't get a tonne of mainstream attention. This is understandable, as the movies certainly go to ridiculous places and don't try hard to be marketable. Still, one aspect that deserves more attention is the Puppet's devilish leader.
Blade was created during the second world war and hosts the soul of a German surgeon named Dr Hess, who was brutally stabbed to death. This vengeful spirit would flip-flop between being an all-out villain and an anti-villain but always had an incredible look and killing repertoire.
While the series itself probably deserves its under the radar status, Blade should get a little more attention.
