10 Best Horror Movie Sequels That Never Happened
2. Quentin Tarantino's Halloween
Few horror properties have had as many 'nearly' movies as the Halloween series.
There have been plans to have Danielle Harris' Jamie Lloyd return to again fight her Uncle Michael, there have been plans to take the found footage route for the series (something touched on in Halloween: Resurrection), there have been ideas of having a 3D outing for the infamous Shape, and then there's the time that Quentin Tarantino came so close to getting his hands on Michael Myers.
Having impressed with Reservoir Dogs and won plentiful praise for his True Romance screenplay, Tarantino found himself approached by Miramax to tackle the sixth entry in the Halloween franchise.
Picking up from the mysterious Man in Black breaking Michael out of police custody at the end of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, Tarantino's pitch for Halloween 6 was for it to start off as a road movie. The Man in Black and the Shape would drive down Route 66, amassing bodies along the way.
Ultimately, it was Tarantino himself who opted against working on the Halloween series. Instead, he'd next work with Miramax on Pulp Fiction and then Jackie Brown.
As for Halloween 6, Dominique Othenin-Girard ended up being brought in to direct what would become Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.
