1. Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash

Of all of the 'what if?' horror follow-ups talked about in the past couple of decades, the one that immediately jumps from the page is the prospect of Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash - as in A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger vs. Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees vs. Ashley J. Williams of the Evil Dead series.

Of course, audiences were given the all-kinds-of-fun Freddy vs. Jason in 2003, with that film itself have been in some form of loose development as far back as 1987.

Following the largely positive reaction to that 2003 crossover offering, plans begin to rumble about taking the idea of Freddy vs. Jason and expanding it by throwing Evil Dead's Ash into the mix.

By all accounts, Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash would've picked things up several years after the events of its predecessor. Opening with Jason killing Lori and Will - the survivors of that 2003 picture - we'd find a landscape where Freddy's spirit is trapped inside the mind of Jason. When Krueger realises that the Necronomicon can bring him back to life, he again uses the visage of Pamela Voorhees to manipulate Jason to retrieve this most sinister of books.

Conveniently at this time, Ash would've been helping out at the Camp Crystal Lake S-Mart and soon finds himself tormented by both Freddy and Jason.

Ultimately, the Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash movie was axed after Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell didn't like the story. Instead, the tale would see life as a comic book.
