10 Best Horror Movies Set In A Cinema

8. Nightmare Cinema

 Coming Soon
Cranked Up Films

When done well, few things in horror can match a good anthology offering. And in 2018, Cranked Up and Nice Guy Productions gave horror hounds five tales of terror with Nightmare Cinema.

At the centre of this film is Mickey Rourke as the mysterious Projectionist. Bringing together five strangers at an old movie theater, Rourke's character puts on five vastly different pictures that showcase the group's deepest fears and darkest secrets.

Adding some nice variation to proceedings, Mick Gariss, Joe Dante, David Slade, Alejandro Brugues and Ryuhei Kitamura each direct one of the five films being shown - with these short movies providing spins on famed horror staples like the slasher film, possession and ghostly goings-on.

Like so many a great anthology, of course, all five entries of Nightmare Cinema end up being a tad more related and connected than we were initially led to believe.

Given how the movie has only been widely available for less than a year, it's only fair to avoid going too deep into just how all of this plays out - but Nightmare Cinema is well worth your time, and well worthy of inclusion on this list.
