10 Best Horror Movies Set On Halloween Night
7. Terrifier 2
Once again set on Halloween, Terrifier 2 returns Art (David Howard Thornton) to Miles County one year after the original movie's massacre, ready for another horrendous bout of extreme gore and slapstick shenanigans. Cranking things up a few notches from the first film, this instalment gives Art a handy new assistant in the form of the Little Pale Girl (Amelie McLain).
Here, they terrorise a teenage girl and her brother all through Halloween night, from first blood at the costume shop, right through to a climactic encounter at an abandoned carnival, complete with its own Terrifier attraction.
Damien Leone has spent years working out the kinks in his Art the Clown character, via a series of short films, anthology movies and feature films of varying budgetary means. But it is with Terrifier 2 that he arguably perfected the bit, blending together the retro, Giallo style visuals, violence and scant plot with a much larger budget ($250k is huge when compared to the first film's meagre 35), slightly better acting and a wider cinematic release.
