9. Love Object (Robert Parigi 2003)

Love Object This is the way Lars and the Real Girl could have gone if Lars was homicidal. An introverted Technical Writer named Kenneth (Desmond Harrington) immediately develops a strong crush on a new co-worker named Lisa (Melissa Sagemiller). Instead of asking her out or even talking to her, he spends $10,000 to order a sex doll named Nikki that he builds in Lisa's image. The film only gets more twisted when Kenneth begins to develop a relationship with Lisa and Nikki starts talking to him. Love Object takes a look at loneliness and the lengths people will go to find a connection with someone. It shows that people who are drowning in loneliness will go to any length to save themselves. This movie has very little gore but more than enough plot twists to recommend it for date night with some edge!
