6. Red, White & Blue (Simon Rumley 2010)
This film is unrelenting in viciousness and brutality yet at the same time the story is fueled by love. Erica (Amanda Fuller) is a promiscuous woman living in Texas, who jumps from bed-to-bed with almost any guy she meets. She begins work at a DIY store where she meets Nate (Noah Taylor) who is immediately smitten with her. He is kind and patient with her, even though she sleeps with other guys and proclaims to have no interest in him. When Erica finally settles down with Nate, they develop a tender relationship she never knew could exist. When she goes missing, Nate goes on one of the most brutal cinematic rampages to get her back. The tenderness they feel is something new for both of the characters, when it is threatened in Nate it is as if the last of his humanity is destroyed. Because of that, there are no good guys in this movie. Without the love of Nate for Erica, Nate would easily be the villain. While other movies on this list are gory and violent, this is by far the rawest. By that I mean, the violence is graphic and realistic. With that being said, it is truly a unique story of unconditional love between fringe characters.
