10 Best Horror Romances

5. Thirst (Chan-wook Park 2009)

Thirst Sang-hyeon is a Catholic priest who volunteers for an experiment that is supposed to help cure cancer. Instead, he is accidentally turned into a vampire (hey, it happens). Sang-hyeon can no longer be a priest, he begins to follow through on his feelings towards his friend's wife thus beginning a bizarre love triangle. This film differs from other vampire romances because it examines faith and friendship (and not glittering guys who feel they are too dangerous). Sang-hyeon is craving woman even though it goes against his faith of being a Catholic. Even worse, he desires the wife of friend. Messy is probably the best way to explain this movie from the director of Oldboy. Messy in terms of love...and of bodily fluids. Thirsts takes a look at lust and hedonism and how it can make monsters, even out of the most righteous people.
