This is one of the most famous (monster) love stories of all time. The sequel to Frankenstein, directed by James Whale, picks up right after the events of the first movie with the Monster (Boris Karloff) surviving his encounter with the villagers. In the sequel, Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive) is forced to create a mate for the Monster in order to save his own wife Elizabeth (Valerie Hobson). This leads to one of the most famous scenes in the movie when the Monster's Bride (Elsa Lanchester) is also terrified of the Monster and she rejects him. All the events in the film are pushed ahead because of love or the lack of. This Universal Classic is the epitome of rejected love. The Monster is rejected by the only one who he could love and could love him back. It's a monstrous feeling to endure and Frankenstein's Monster takes the route most of us would like to - smashing and setting everything on fire.
