"Gimme back my hand!" When you think of a zombie film hero, you think of a chainsaw wielding madman who becomes the only survivor of a zombie demon plague he started, right? OK, maybe Ash isn't the greatest 'hero' per se, but he is a chainsaw wielding madman who says 'Groovy' alot. He is also cemented in zombie film pop culture and probably ever will be, due to just how great a character he is. Not only was he the creation of three madmen will a camera, a low budget and a dream, but eh was the creation of dedication and hard work. and in the movie's universe, he is the ultimate in badass. And if you're sat there thinking I;ve thrown that word around too much, know that those who have it bestowed upon them have earned it, but none more so than Bruce Campbell's shining star of Zombie heroes.
