4. Wolverine (X-Men: First Class)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvHI7IQmK4Q The idea of Wolverine turning up in a X-Men movie may not sound like a particularly surprising choice for a cameo, but the way he randomly appears in X-Men: First Class is still completely unexpected, even for fans who heard rumors that Hugh Jackman had been seen on set during filming. To defeat Sebastian Shaw, Professor Xavier and Magneto use the Cerebro device to detect and enlist other mutants willing to join their cause. Surprisingly, one of the mutants the pair encounter is none other than Wolverine, who looks the exact same as he does in the original trilogy set decades later. The scene only lasts for a few seconds and Jackman only delivers one line, but Logan's dismissal of Xavier and Erik is easily one of the highlights of the entire movie. Just like the aforementioned Rebecca Romijn cameo, Logan's appearance makes perfect sense within the context of the story, but for a while, it looked like the cameo wouldn't happen. Director Matthew Vaughn and the studio were initially unsure whether to include Wolverine and eventually agreed to it at the last minute. The shoot took two hours to film in total and on the last of the eight takes, Jackman asked if he could ad-lib his line slightly. Vaughn agreed and ultimately, this was the take that was included in the final edit of the film.
