10 Best MCU Endings

Marvel's Famous Last Words.

Getting the MCU off the ground was no easy feat. After years of slogging it out and more end credits to count, the creative minds behind the biggest superhero franchise in the world have built a mini empire out of our favourite heroes. But as the old saying goes, a movie is only as good as its ending.

Throughout the pantheon of Marvel movies, the ending is always the most difficult part to figure out. How are you going to find a final shot or line of dialogue that both fits the ending of what your movie is while also leaving it open for future instalments to still happen? It's never an easy decision... but it's not like these movies were in shaky hands or anything.

From the start of Phase 1 right up until the present day, some of the best moments from these films come at the end, where we're able to get that final sense of closure or that last joke before things actually wrap her.

Even though the end credits could nullify the actual ending, these are the shots that fans still remembered when coming out of the theatre. The journey may continue after the credits roll, but in just a few shots, each of these movies had our mouths on the floor.

10. Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man: Homecoming was a breath of fresh air, and truly started Phase 3 off on a high note. While some of Avengers: Age of Ultron may have had too much fan service to go around, Tom Holland’s version of Spidey is still one of the most lovable comic book characters ever put to screen. Even when Spidey got a movie of his own, it kept within his high school demeanour up until the very end.

After going against Tony’s wishes and being stripped of his trademark suit, Peter’s attempt to apprehend the Vulture worked out for the best, showing that even the little guy can do big things in the face of defeat. Though things were left uncertain once Peter rejects Tony’s offer to become a fully-fledged Avenger, he is left with his upgraded suit back home.

Dawning the signature red and blue tights, everything seems to be going fine before Aunt May comes into frame, putting a perfectly comedic ending to the film.

As opposed to letting you have all the closure you might want, this little reveal keeps dragging you out to the end, leaving you to wonder how Peter’s going to deal with his aunt knowing his real identity. There have been a lot of heavy handed moments in the MCU, but this subtle joke before the credits roll put some of that child-like innocence back into the franchise.
