10 Best Meet The Real Villain Moments In Movie History
2. In For A Penny - Knives Out
Rian Johnson's deliriously twisted murder-mystery thriller Knives Out does a fantastic job tying the audience up in knots, unsure of who among its large ensemble cast could be truly responsible for the demise of patriarch Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer).
Johnson's script gives most every member of the family a plausible reason for wanting to off the old man, but in the end it's revealed that Harlan's grandson Ransom (Chris Evans) had orchestrated his demise all along.
In the outrageous climax, Harlan's nurse Marta (Ana de Armas) tricks Ransom into confessing to the murder of housekeeper Fran (Edi Patterson), who Ransom attempted to kill, by false claiming that she actually survived.
Ransom then admits to trying to kill Fran, and moments later Marta vomits all over him, proving that she was lying about Fran's fate.
You see, Ransom did actually kill Fran, and Marta being unable to lie without puking, forcibly ejected her stomach contents all over Ransom.
With Ransom's confession recorded and no leg left to stand on, he grabs a nearby knife and attempt to stab Marta, only to hilariously realise that the knives in Harlan's home are fake, retractable props. Incredible.
