10 Best Mission: Impossible Stunts

1. Dangling From A Helicopter: Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2019)

It's natural that the last sequence in the franchise so far is also the biggest, so much so that we can break it down into two main sections.

The first is the precarious high-flying mountain chase scene, where Tom Cruise physically trained to be a pilot so that he could perform the task solo. The second, because that wasn't quite dangerous enough, was the scene leading up to that chase.

Why Tom? Why?

The stunt involved climbing a rope towards a helicopter while it was flying. As always, losing the trusty black wire was the only bit of CGI work. Real? Yes! Except the more belligerent of you might be thinking that this is a little too similar to the aircraft stunt of Rouge Nation.

Not nearly. Because this time, Cruise also had to deliberately fall upon his ascent, and crash heavily onto the netting more than several metres below, which was also dangling in the air. It looks messy, scary, utterly brilliant, and not something you'd think somebody could walk away from.

Yet he did. It's conclusive proof that Tom Cruise should win the award for not being dead. Seriously, take it easy now mate! You made your point.
