10 Best Moments In Kong: Skull Island

2. Marlow Arrives Home

Kong Skull Island John C Reilly

Marlow is easily the movie's most interesting character and one of the few to have any significant development at all.

He mentions having a wife back home, and seems to have accepted that she has probably moved on and started a new life.

The very end of the movie however brings viewers some unexpected closure, as Marlow is shown arriving back home after escaping the island, only to be greeted by his son (who he's never met) and his wife, who drops a plate of drinks on the floor in shock.

It's a weirdly touching moment that actually works surprisingly well, because as lacking as most of the movie's characters actually are, Marlow is the one viewers are actually invited to give a damn about.
