Many viewers missed Daniel Craig's cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens upon their first viewing since the actor's face was hidden by a Stormtrooper helmet. So, when it was announced Tom Hardy would be portraying a Stormtrooper in The Last Jedi, viewers assumed they could pinpoint the British star due to his distinctive dialect.

But when the movie came out, fans were disappointed to learn Hardy's character was cut. In the scene in question, Hardy plays a Stormtrooper who recognises Finn while he's disguised as an Imperial captain. Although it appears the Stormtrooper is about to rat his former ally out, he congratulates him, assuming he's been promoted.

It's never been specified why this scene got the chop but viewers assume it was because the humour undercut the film's dark tone. This theory sounds reasonable since many comedic scenes were removed from the theatrical release.

However, some viewers enjoyed this scene, saying Hardy's banter helped humanise the Stormtroopers, who normally come across as emotionless drones. Even though this confrontation is a little out of place, it's way better than the scene where Luke Skywalker milked a freaking alien!
