10 Best Movie Marketing Campaigns Ever

6. Snakes on a Plane - The Entire Freaking Movie

Snakes on a Plane, though hardly a great film, was revolutionary as far as movie marketing goes, given that it's the first film that was essentially born and bred by the Internet, even so much as the collective web community had a little creative input in what content would go into the film! After screenwriter Josh Friedman passed on the project himself but hyped it up on his blog by merely harping on about its ludicrous title, the Internet went crazy, with fanboys concocting their own fan fiction and ideas as to what the film should include, which the film's production team actually paid attention to. The result was a brief period where studios thought that crowd-sourcing creative ideas might actually revolutionise the movie industry, given how talked about the movie was prior to release. What's best is that when the Internet asked the filmmakers to include more nudity and swearing, they actually went ahead and did it! This is movie marketing at its most extreme, actually involving the audience in the creative process, though don't expect it to become a common thing, given that the movie bombed at the box office, as all those avid fanboys just ended up downloading the film instead.
