10 Best Movie Posters Of 2017

3. Thor: Ragnarok

Yes, it's another comic book movie, and this one's way over the other end of the spectrum. The third solo outing for Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder is arguably the most overtly comedic film yet made in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it had the bulk of the audience creasing over with delight in cinemas worldwide.

From the moment the first trailer hit, director Taikia Waititi's film was noted for its heavy 1980s vibe: the font used for the title alone makes that clear as day, and it's very much cemented by this dazzling poster, with its eye-popping symmetry and garish neon colour scheme.

Still, with that '80s mood and self-conscious humour, is Thor: Ragnarok perhaps a little too close in spirit to James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy movies? Maybe so - but there's little question that it was a stronger, more entertaining effort than 2017's Guardians Volume 2.

Ben Bussey hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
