10 Best Movie Soundtracks Of 2015

10. It Follows

The Film: It Follows focuses on a group of teenagers subject to a sexually transmitted curse €“ once cursed, you'll be endlessly pursued by a figure with the sole intent of killing you. The figure can come in any form, and will merely shuffle towards you like a looming, ever-present disaster.

The Soundtrack: Channelling the tone and aesthetic of many John Carpenter horror films, It Follows follows suite on the music, with pumping, blaring synth and wailing electronics. The soundtrack doesn't shy away from quieter moments either, creating a hazy, languid atmosphere when required.

Composed by American Rich Vreeland (who is often known by his stage name Disasterpeace, rising to fame for his video game score Fez) he primarily works within the confines of a genre known as Chiptune, music that is similar in sound to that of old computers, video game consoles and arcade machines.
