8. Jurassic World

The Film: Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World picks off some time in the future after the events of Jurassic Park, with a new theme park having been built where the original Jurassic Park once stood. All is well until a genetically engineered dinosaur (apparently the standard ones have gotten stale) breaks loose and wreaks murderous chaos.

The Soundtrack: If there was one thing fans were anticipating it was hearing that familiar Jurassic Park theme. In the movie, the theme plays during a revelatory aerial shot of the entire park, and its just as breathtaking as the first time you heard it.

With that being said, though, the rest of the score deserves massive credit for for matching the sheer emotion previously captured by John Williams, flipping from swelling and sentimental to frantic and fast-paced. The music is composed and arranged by Michael Giacchino, whose more notable work includes doing much of the music for television series Lost. In recent years Giacchino has made an amazing transition to the big screen, as the next entry on this list continues to prove...
