10 Best Movie Star vs. Paparazzi Punch Ups

2. Gerard Butler Beats Pursuer Senseless (2008)

Pu8 Why anyone would think it was a good idea to harass Gerard Butler is beyond me. Although he usually comes across as a very friendly and down-to-earth kind of guy, if you've seen any of his cinematic offerings you'd certainly be wary of pushing his buttons. His most quoted line occurs in Zack Snyder's 300, immediately before his character super-kicks that chap from Spartacus down a well. This situation with a photographer seemingly tapped into the same rage he used to play King Leonidas. It is one of those rare incidents in which people have actually come out in defence of the actor's actions. Those who witness Butler repeated punching the paparazzo in the face noted that he had been tailing the actor recklessly and for some time, and this unashamed stalking even included putting pedestrians at risk. Eventually Butler grew tired of this photographer's antics and exited his car to confront him. This escalated into him punching the paparazzo repeatedly in the face, the resulting injury apparently requiring stitches. I can't say that Butler chose the right option when dealing with this photographer but the consistent harassment (which continued even after their run-in) finally made him lose it. Surely the moral here is not to make a Scotsman angry.
