1. Sean Penn Dangles Photographer Out Of Window, Flees China (1986)
It is unlikely that any other story about celebrities and the paparazzi will ever reach the dizzying heights of lunacy Sean Penn managed. He is renowned for his left-wing political leanings and social activism, with a lot of humanitarian work under his belt. Aside from these accomplishments including being an award winning actor he is a notoriously angry man with a penchant for physical violence as can be seen in the photo. My number one spot goes to a different incident than the one pictured above as no pictures of this event exist; only the insane story. While filming Shanghai Noon in China, Penn and his entourage arrived back at their hotel to discover a paparazzo hiding in his room. The photographer soon lived to regret this decision as he was mercilessly beaten and dangled over the ninth-floor balcony. Of course, the incident landed Penn in jail but somehow he and his assistant were able to stroll through an open door and flee the country. He has since been pardoned for the crime proving once and for all that attempted murder is fine as long as you're rich enough, because apparently money and fame out-trumps man-dangling insanity.
