5. Ransom Drysdale - Knives Out

After managing to turn the majority of the Star Wars fandom against him after the Last Jedi, Rian Johnson returned in 2019 with Knives Out. The movie was an absolute hit, with a plot that kept audiences guessing right to very last, and a wonderfully evil villain in the form of Ransom Drysdale.

After seeing him play Captain America for the last decade, the beacon of all that is good and right, it was refreshing to see Chris Evans play a complete b*stard. From seeing him tell every member of his family to eat sh*t in the trailer, you could tell his character would be fun.

His involvement in the first half of the movie is somewhat limited, and even when he becomes more integrated after driving off with Marta, it seems as though he is a good guy after all. The rebel with a heart of gold kind of vibe.

By the end of the movie however, Ransom confirms that he is, in fact, just a bad guy but a compelling, charismatic, incredibly smart one who was ultimately foiled by pure back luck.
