the queen I'm like 95% sure that if Helen Mirren walked into Buckingham Palace today and started giving orders, no one would be able to tell the difference. The talented actress so thoroughly embodies the role of Britain's current queen, Elizabeth II, that it's kind of hard to believe that they're not actually the same person. This film revolves around the death of Princess Diana in 1997, and the queen's reaction to this tragedy. There was a conflict among the Royal Family about how to deal with the death. Many members believed that because Charles and Diana were divorced, it should not be treated as an official royal death. But with the beloved Diana's reputation as "the people's princess", the public wanted the Royal Family to issue a statement and to publicly acknowledge the grief and loss everyone was feeling at the time.
