And finally, though Joe Morton may have had a relatively small role in Justice League, he's forever engraved in the annals of cinematic legend thanks to his memorable appearance in Terminator 2: Judgment Day as Miles Dyson.

A firm candidate for the best movie sequel of all time, right up there with The Godfather Part II and The Dark Knight, T2 is a richer, deeper follow-up to Cameron's original horror movie, a masterclass in expert pacing, scintillating action and nuanced characterisation.

If modern blockbusters don't do enough to fashion strong, compelling female characters, they could certainly look back at Linda Hamilton's stunning performance as Sarah Connor to take a few pointers.

An unshakeable classic that's aged ludicrously well despite its abundance of CGI, T2 is the benchmark, the gold standard for all movie sequels.
