True Romance is one of Quintin Tarantino's best films, even if he wasn't allowed to direct it. The movie follows the adventures of Clarence Worley and Alabama Whitman. The two met on Clarence's birthday, and their romance blossomed from that point, despite the fact that Alabama was a callgirl.

When Clarence went to her pimp to try and negotiate her release and get her things, the visit ended with bloodshed, and Clarence grabbed what he thought were Alabama's belongings on the way out. As it happens, he grabbed a bag filled with a massive amount of cocaine.

This brings the pair to the attention of the Mob's Vincenzo Coccotti, the primary villain of the film, who follows them across the country to reacquire his lost merchandise. Eventually, Alabama and Clarence set up a sale for the cocaine, but right when everything is looking like it's working out, it all goes to hell.

Their deal is ambushed by the cops and the mobsters, which leads to a massive shootout. While it was happening, Clarence was in the bathroom, getting advice from his imaginary friend, Elvis Presley. When he came out, he got shot but didn't die, though nearly everyone else did.

Clarence made it to the end of the film without even knowing who his nemesis was, but in the end, it all worked out despite the fact that the hero and villain never had a chance to meet one another.
