10 Best One-Off Characters In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

1. Erik "Killmonger" Stevens/N'Jadaka

Thor Ragnarok Hela Cate Blanchett

Killmonger is such a great character that it's hard to believe he only appears in one film. The Black Panther antagonist is a complex, three-dimensional, and well portrayed character who nearly single-handedly ended the "Marvel doesn't have any good villains" argument.

In fact, actor Michael B. Jordan does such a great job in the role that he genuinely came close to landing an Oscar nomination, receiving consistent buzz throughout awards season.

Killmonger is intimidating and brutal. However, he genuinely changes T'Challa's mind by the end of the film, as opposed to most MCU villains, who exist in a bubble and don't impact their heroes beyond physical harm. In a weird way, despite his cruelty and villainy, Killmonger helped make the world a better place, and made T'Challa into a better man.

Killmonger's death at the end of Black Panther signifies that he won't be back in the sequel. However, he made such a huge splash in his first appearance, we don't need to see any more of him, since he is already an all-time great MCU character.
