10 Best One-Off Characters In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Unfortunately, it's been confirmed that Rachel McAdams will not return for Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness. This means that, whether intentionally or not, her character, Dr. Christine Palmer, is most likely going to be just a one-off appearance.

For the first act of Doctor Strange, the title character was an unbearable jerk. This forced Christine to act as the film's moral backbone. She's just about the only good person we see for thirty minutes, and because of her compassion and belief that Stephen can become a better man, we're actually able to invest in his development.

Additionally, she's involved in one of the best and most creative fights scenes of the film. While Stephen and Lucian duel each other in astral projection form, Christine performs surgery on Stephen, saving his life. She ends up winning the fight for Stephen by shocking his body with enough electricity to transfer to his and Lucian's astral forms, killing Lucian.

It's a shame we won't see Christine in the sequel, but she was a key part of why the first film works.
