10 Best Opening Scenes In Superhero Movies

4. Blade

Man Of Steel Opening
New Line Cinema

Long gone are the days of Wesley Snipes as Blade, so much so that the idea of R-rated superhero movies have rubber-banded from forbidden to popular again. That said, Blade stands the test of time as an ultra-violent vampire movie that Marvel would never release nowadays.

Blade opens in vampire Deacon Frost's rave club - how 90's! - and it's a sensory overload with flashing lights and pulsating music. A random human, who found himself in the club, is having a blast until a drop of blood lands on his hand. Then the sprinklers open and blood pours out over every dancer.

Suddenly, every person in the club turns on the unlucky guy, revealing their fangs and knocking him to the floor. They stop beating on him when they spot the leather-clad Blade standing before them. He opens fire with a shotgun and kills everyone in his way. Then, when confronted by Frost and his goons, Blade whips out his katana and slices through everyone with glee.

That opening scene of Blade was gore-tastic and perfectly fit the character. Any future interpretation should take note.
