10 Best Performances In 2018's Worst Movies

6. Stephen Lang (Mortal Engines)

Mortal Engines is both one of the year's most visually impressive and most forgettable movies, a pretty fireworks show which serves up a blended rehash of countless better Young Adult stories.

The delicious irony is that, for all of its human turmoil, the film's most appealing and relatable character is a CGI undead machine called Shrike (Stephen Lang).

Though Lang only provided the voice for the role and not performance capture, he nevertheless lends Shrike an enormous amount of gravitas and humanity, at least compared to every single other character and actor.

The unfurling of his tragic backstory is one of Mortal Engines' few memorable moments, and Lang absolutely knocks it out of the park.
