10 Best Performances In Harry Potter

5. Mark Williams And Julie Walters – Mr And Mrs Weasley

Aside from the fact Charlie never made an appearance, the Harry Potter movie adaptations brought the Weasley family to life remarkably well.

Though all of the Weasley children were expertly cast, it was the performances of Mark Williams and Julie Walters that stood out the most. Their chemistry was identical to Rowling’s depiction, and their interactions with their children were also spot on.

As with Grint’s portrayal of Ron, Williams brought plenty of humour to the role of Mr Weasley. His complete failure to understand the London Underground, for example, was one of the funniest moments across all eight movies, and his fixation with muggles was always amusing as well.

Walters’ performance, on the other hand, was a great balance of motherly warmth and anger. Though Mrs Weasley was kind for the most part, the actions of her children (particularly Fred and George) often drove her into fits of unbridled rage. Yet her most memorable moment was definitely her takedown of Bellatrix during the Battle of Hogwarts.

As such, despite their limited screen time, both Williams and Walters made their characters some of the most likeable and distinctive in the series.
