Luna Lovegood was one of the most likeable characters Rowling ever created for her magical world. She was honest, kind, slightly mad, and instantly noticeable owing to her bizarre appearance.

It’s no secret The Order of the Phoenix was one of the weaker Harry Potter movies, but the introduction of Luna helped to raise the standard of the film considerably. Every time she was on screen, she lightened the mood of both Harry and the audience with her sweet personality.

What was especially good about Lynch’s performance was how similar she was to Rowling’s original depiction. As well as looking remarkably like her character, Lynch demonstrated the many nuances of Luna with ease. She was especially good at capturing the slightly maddening aura that always surrounded Luna whilst simultaneously giving off plenty of warmth.

Again, Lynch’s time on screen was limited owing to the excessive trimming of the source material. However, her performance was a delight for hardcore fans who saw no difference between the book version of Luna and the movie version of Luna.
