10 Best Revenge Movies Of All Time

4. The Crow - 1994

John Wick Chapter 3 Parabellum Keanu Reeves
Miramax

The Crow is probably best known for the tragic accidental death of star Brandon Lee, son of Bruce, on the set, whilst filming a scene with what turned out to be defective blank ammunition. Lee had made a number of increasingly more successful action movies, channelling some of the classic Bruce Lee charisma and breaking out some pretty cool moves of his own. He looked set for a step up to the major leagues with The Crow, with the potential for sequels and a much higher profile as an actor.

Based on a comic book, Lee plays a rock star whose girlfriend has been beaten and raped and who was himself murdered by the same gang. The revenge motivation safely in place, it is then a matter of sitting back and waiting for Lee to work his way through the cast of villains. Lee despatches them with considerable aplomb. Obviously, with Bruce Lee in his DNA, he was born to be a fighter and he doesn't disappoint.

As with all stars who died way too young, including his father, there is always the 'what if' question. That Brandon would have gone on to become a major box office draw seems a no-brainer. Sadly we are left with only a handful of great screen moments.
