The only human-looking humanoid on this list is the titular star of one of the greatest sequels of all time: the Terminator. Where Arnold Schwarzeneggers character was trying to kill an unborn John Connor in T1, this time around he (technically not the same robot but an identical model) has actually been programmed to protect the future leader of the human rebellion. Before she gets to this reveal, Johns mothers horrified facial expression is priceless. The first Terminator movie is mostly comprised of action and serious drama, but the second one (despite some harrowing apocalyptic predictions) opens up some room for levity. The young John Connor has never had a male figure (father- or otherwise) in his life, and he quickly develops an easy rapport with his Austrian-accented mechanical protector. John teaches the T-800 model some humanisms such as the thumbs-up and now-famous phrases like hasta la vista baby. This film (like many from James Camerons oeuvre) left a lasting imprint on American and perhaps even global culture. Of course, the countless sequels, spin-offs, and reboots prove the Terminators original prophecy of Ill be back 100% true.
