3. The INSANE Helicopter Finale - Mission: Impossible - Fallout
There are literally dozens of jaw-dropping moments to choose from in the latest Mission: Impossible movie, but the best of them all is surely the stunningly heart-pounding final showdown between Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and August Walker (Henry Cavill).
As Walker attempts to escape a nuclear detonation in a chopper, Hunt gives chase, climbing atop a decoy helicopter which he quickly steals control of - killing the two occupants in the process, of course - and (somehow) manages to pilot.
As Hunt flies past Walker, Walker opens fire from a gigantic mounted machine gun, literally slicing chunks out of the surrounding mountains until the two choppers collide, leaving Hunt and Walker to duke it out on a perilous cliff edge. Spoiler: it doesn't go well for Walker.
The sequence is all the more mind-boggling when you consider that Cruise spent three months logging more than 6,000 hours of flight time to actually fly the freaking chopper himself. That's right: those shots of Cruise flying aren't faked with green screens, doubles and stunt drivers: the absolute madman actually did it.
