10 Best Scenes From 2018's Summer Blockbusters
2. The Mid-Credits Montage - Deadpool 2
Deadpool 2 delivered a mid-credits sequence that's sure to go down in history as one of the most legendarily bonkers of all time. The montage, set to Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time", sees Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) stealing Cable's (Josh Brolin) time travel device from Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna).
What does he do with it, you ask? Having his priorities in check, he travels back in time to prevent Vanessa's (Morena Baccarin) death, tells Peter (Rob Delaney) to go home, kills the awful "Barakapool" version of Deadpool from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and best of all, shoots Ryan Reynolds in the head before he can start filming Green Lantern.
To cap it all off, Deadpool signs the movie off with, "You're welcome, Canada", as he stands over Reynolds' corpse. And better yet, if you've seen the Super Duper Cut on home video, Deadpool even attempts to murder baby Hitler (but ultimately chickens out).
Considering how superhero movies so often use credits scenes to portentously set up future movies, this was a gut-bustingly brilliant way to make fun of that.
