10 Best Scenes When Movie Characters Turned Evil

1. Anakin Skywalker - Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith

The fans put in their time with six movies before finally seeing the moment Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. It's not as if the viewers didn't know it was coming, but the manner in which Anakin would betray his oaths as a Jedi to embrace the Dark Side of the Force finally came in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

The movie showed how Senator-turned Emperor Palpatine worked behind the scenes to manipulate Anakin into turning to the Dark Side, but it was still a surprising scene when it finally occurred. After Jedi Master Mace Windu had Palpatine on the ground at his mercy, he asks a newly arrived Anakin for assistance.

At that moment, the young Jedi sees his only hope in saving his beloved by assisting Palpatine and turning on the Jedi. He quickly lops off Windu's hand, allowing Palpatine to take the advantage and fire Force Lightning at him to the point of shooting him from the window.

Palpatine then turns to Anakin and helps to bring him into the moment. He then kneels and swears his allegiance to his new master, saying, "I pledge myself to your teaching." To this, Emperor Palpatine accepts his new pupil, and christens him with a new name:

"Good. The Force is strong with you. A powerful Sith you will become. Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth Vader."
