10 Best Scenes When Movie Characters Turned Evil

9. Syndrome - The Incredibles

In The Incredibles, the titular hero, Mr. Incredible is a lot like Golden Age Superman, but instead of having a cameraman follow him around all the time requiring help, Mr. Incredible was followed by Buddy, a young boy who called himself Incrediboy.

Buddy was engrossed in hero-worship of his idol, and because he was a genius with an innovative mind, he created a bunch of gizmos he planned to use to help his hero fight crime and save the day. The only problem with that plan was that the kid just got in the way and caused a ton of problems for Mr. Incredible.

To be clear, Buddy was a good kid who only wanted to emulate his hero. In fact, he wanted to be a hero himself, but that turned out to be his biggest flaw when he turned evil. The scene depicting this transition occurred at the beginning of the film.

After foiling Mr. Incredible's attempt to stop a bomber, which resulted in nearly derailing a train, Mr. Incredible scolds Buddy and tells him to go home. He does so as harshly as possible, and it was at that very moment that Buddy took those words to heart, and realized his hero wasn't someone he wanted to worship anymore — he wanted to beat him.
