10 Best Sci-Fi Movie Endings Of All Time
9. Life
When it comes to originality, 2017's Life isn't the most groundbreaking movie in the sci-fi horror genre, borrowing heavily from the iconic Alien. But even if you found the lack of innovation throughout the film a tad boring, you can't deny its terrifying ending.
After numerous failed attempts to destroy the organism named Calvin, the two remaining survivors decide to each use an escape pod on the ship, with Jordan (Jake Gyllenhaal) luring Calvin into his one before launching as far into deep space as possible, and North (Rebecca Ferguson) using hers to return to Earth and warn them about the dangers in their solar system.
Unfortunately, the plan backfires, and it's the pod holding Jordan and Calvin that crashes to Earth, as North is seen screaming whilst she drifts into the depths of space. After Jordan unsuccessfully attempts to stop two nearby fishermen from 'rescuing' him, we see more boats arrive on the scene before it cuts to black, leaving us in fear of what horrific havoc Calvin could wreak next.
