10 Best Sci-Fi Movies Of 2020
7. Tenet
Many people may be surprised to see Tenet make it to this list, as the film's reception has been littered with harsh criticisms thanks to the poor sound mixing. However - in a similar vein to that of the abysmal Cyberpunk 2077 launch - while the evident problems are apparent, the title's foundation still exceeds many of its peers regarding quality and originality.
The movie's narrative follows Protagonist - played by John David-Washington - as he is armed with the word Tenet and pushed out into the world of international espionage to ensure the survival the earth, in a time-bending and mind-boggling adventure - as can be expected from Christopher Nolan.
The film is an utterly stylish and profound feature that uses the directors' signature style while still standing out amongst his library due to the unique premise. Nolan's time meddling antics make the film a little tough to follow, which is almost a call-back to his career-defining Memento.
It's a challenging watch, but you get as good as you give with it, as Tenet truly trusts its viewers' intelligence. Once the dust has settled, it will be easy to see the film regain the favour of general audiences.
