10 Best Shia LaBeouf Film Performances
From Even Stevens to an incredible heavyweight box office regular.
Shia LaBeouf is a bit of an enigma. He is hands down one of the most polarizing actors of our generation. To some, he is considered an internet meme, and to others he is an award-winning actor who can carry an entire movie.
Whether you know him as the goofy kid on Even Stevens, or as the rough and rugged tank operator in Fury, or even as the loveable misfit in Holes, there is no doubting the range that Shia has shown over the past twenty years of his acting catalog.
He has starred in a variety of genres and roles captivating audiences of all different ages and interests. He has featured alongside some of Hollywood's brightest stars, holding his own and often surpassing expectations. He has taken the reins of many different roles and is equally believable in each of them.
From childhood star to a regular box office sensation, here are ten of his best performances that we have had the pleasure of experiencing over the years.
10. Holes
Holes was the movie that really started it all for the future Hollywood star. After playing the goofy yet loveable main character on Even Stevens, a kid show on Disney, he took the helm of his first box office hit right as the show was ending.
In Holes, we see Shia playing the confused adolescent Stanley Yelnats (yes, it is the same name spelled backward). From a young age, it was obvious that Shia had some serious acting chops.
In his very first Hollywood outing, he carries the main character of the film through a journey that is still in the minds of many millennials who aren't likely to forget Camp Green Lake, the film's main setting.
Not only does Shia show an impressive range for someone so young, he holds his own against the antagonist of the film, labeled simply as "The Warden." The Warden is played by Sigourney Weaver, a mainstay in Hollywood blockbusters for over four decades.
Audiences knew right away that they were seeing something special, although perhaps no one realized just how diverse and immersive of a journey that Shia would undergo in his roles to come.
