10 Best Shia LaBeouf Film Performances

9. Borg Vs. McEnroe

By 2017, Shia had already begun to rise in the ranks of Hollywood talent. In this film he takes the role of a real person, and the story is a biopic about two infamous tennis players who have an intense rivalry in the 1980s.

This was a big change for the actor as much of this film takes place in Sweden and features the Swedish language heavily (with subtitles thankfully). While Shia doesn't need to speak the language himself, it couldn't have been easy to star alongside a heavily Swedish cast.

This film was also more of a foreign film than it was an American film, as it released in Sweden, Denmark, and Finland before hitting American Theatres.

Starring in the foreign film with a mostly foreign cast doesn't appear to slow him down even one bit however, as he embodied the intensity and fire of the ever so fierce John McEnroe. The film relies heavily on the rivalry between the two stars, and Shia does a fantastic job of helping carry the load of the movie.
