10 Best Shia LaBeouf Film Performances
7. Disturbia
Two years after Shia pleasantly surprised audiences with his turn as Francis Ouimet, he surprised an entirely new demographic of horror fans with his leading role in the creepy film Disturbia.
This was an interesting change for the actor as he began to transition from fun fueled irreverent-based characters to a film that is very intense and unnerving.
In this 2007 thriller, Kale (LaBeouf) is placed on house arrest for the summer after an altercation at school. During this stint stuck at home, he discovers that his seemingly nice neighbor is actually a brutal serial killer.
What follows is a quickly unraveling story of Kale attempting to convince his family and police that his neighbor is in fact a serial killer. When no one believes him, he takes it upon himself to stop the evildoer.
This was the tip of the iceberg for the actor as he was beginning to really find himself and hone his craft. While this isn't a role that is going to win any Oscars, it was proof that Shia was on the scene and was ready to tackle any role, regardless of genre.
